OpenRails on Windows 7, and inside Vmware

I have installed OpenRails on Windows7.

So far it looks Good!

Here is what I did.

Want to test OpenRail new version!

I have to install MSTS !

Here, I found really good MSTS install guide,,, really Perfect Bible(thay call it) site,,, Really!!

Followed every step in the above link.

But, at first run I had a CTD.
- Win7
- 2560x1600 resolution 40 inch monitor : Maybe this is the cause of CTD !?

After a some try, I made it to run.

** The ONLY way to run it:
** Check "run in 640x480 resolution" inside Properties of Shortcut.
** Once started, change resoution to 1600x1200x32 from inside MSTS.

And "-vm:w" windowed mode option does not work.

Anyway, MSTS run on Win7!

I lowered the resolution to 1920x1200.
Then MSTS started without checking 640x480 mode!

Finally run Openrails

One point during installation...
The manual say to install DotNet 3.5 SP1.
I tried to install on win7 several times - but failed.
Searched every article on the net and tried everything -- but failed...

In the end, I got the solution : DotNet 3.5 SP1 is already included in Win7... Damn....
The manual do not say about this!
So, if you are win7 usrs,,,, I hope this will help you...

So, I am not a normal MSTS usrs,
Just installed MSTS, since OpenRails required MSTS!

First impression - Looking Good
At least,, I can use 16:9 style windowed mode - MSTS can not do!
Graphics - should be better than MSTS!

Anyway, recommend you to have OpenRails...
It is FREE!!

JJust installed MSTS and OpenRails inside Virtual Machine.

Virtual Machine is : Windows 7 Basic version under Vmware V7.0

Both runs Perfectly !

Graphic, Sound Everything Perfect!

Be sure to DownLoad OR_X version..

OR_V8 can not run most of the MSTS routes!
